Curry leaf ( Daun Kari )

Curry leaf  have regional spread of  Curry Tree,  is the most widespread in South Asia, especially in the India and  Himalayas. The leaves are pinnate shaped like star fruit leaves, only smaller and glossy dark green. The flowers are small white and the group has a fragrant aroma. The fruit it self is round of peanut green when young and turns dark purple when ripe. In Wikipedia mentioned if the fruit can be eaten alone while the seeds are poisonous.
In Indonesia Curry leaf not so popular, the people who know called as: "Salam Koja", "Daun Kari", "Daun  Temuru". This plants is one of the many herbs that can be used as part of the herb or medicine. Curry tree is not widely known in Indonesia but only a few regions such as Aceh and west Sumatra island.  They were already familiar Curry leaf well because generally in this area  used Curry leaf as a spice flavoring dishes.

Curry leaves is also one that frequently used spices in Indian and Sri Lanka cuisine, its use almost like bay leaves. Besides for spices the culinary, Curry leaves also have benefits in medicine and cosmetics. Curry  leaves other than as a spice, also used to treat various types of diseases in traditional medicine.
The benefit of the tree, have a property to nourish the hair and has anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, antimicrobial, antioxidant and other benefits.


Traditionally, the leaves, bark and roots of plants used as a tonic and an upset stomach. Curry  leaves also contain an antimicrobial to inhibit the enzyme triggers prostate disease. Substances  which is owned Curry  leaves  among others, anti-diabetic, anti-oxidant, anti-rich atheroclerotic , anti-dysentery and hypolipidaemic.
