Sea mango In Indonesia is many in the beach or marsh plants. This Plant can grow up reach a height of 12m.
Sea mango have naturally spread area in the tropical Indo-Pacific region, from the seychelles to French Polynesia, including Indonesia. Sea mango natural habitat is mangrove forest (mangroves) and coastal. Bintaro in English is known as Indian suicide tree the Sea Mango, or Pong-pong tree.

 

This tree also known in the Pacific with the name leva (Samoa), toto (Tonga) and vasa (Fiji). Sea mango in Indonesia is often referred to as "Buta Badak", "Mangga Laut", "Kayu Gurita" and "Babuto". Actually the trees can be used as a timid mouse, wax materials, bio-insecticides, drug injury, potential as a biodiesel and deodorant. Attention, all part of the trees can not be consumed, because all the part of tree contain toxins.

 

When The fruit is green color when young and become red. The fruits have three layers, which the outer is skin of the fruit, the middle layer is form of fibers such as coconut fiber and coated seeds. The fruit and leaves so many gummy and toxic. 

 

The fruit is often called Cerbera because almost all parts of the Sea mango plant contain toxins called "Cerberin" . The toxins can inhibit calcium ion channels in the human heart muscle, which the toxin can interfere with the heart rate become death. 

 

Even the smoke from burning wood also cause poisoning. In Indonesia many Sea mango used as green plants and shade the beach area of the city and absorbing carbon dioxide (CO2).
